I felt the same way about his adaptation of Woolrich's The Bride Wore Black. I understand a filmmaker wanting to make the adaptation something personal, but in doing so he essentially ruined the heart of both novels.Cullen Gallagherhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14236957954996740924noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-36271824.post-17638994684142967292015-08-07T00:07:06.350-07:002015-08-07T00:07:06.350-07:00Just picked up a copy after a long time searching ...Just picked up a copy after a long time searching for something affordable - I remember quite liking the Truffaut, but it is intentionally a light weight souffle, no question about it. I was introduced to him through Hard Case Crime. But I've loved every one I've read. I'll try to track this one down. It sounds like one I would enjoy.Adventuresfantastichttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16907562789681407416noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-36271824.post-76814624684791963132015-08-06T17:51:54.745-07:002015-08-06T17:51:54.745-07:00I feel the same as Bill. A damn shame that his work isn't better known among readers and critics alike. MacDonald. He was just as good as anybody and better than most.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02350478005243505108noreply@blogger.com
