The Criterion DVD has a separate sound track with my father telling stories about the different scenes as they unfold, I don't know if this extra track is available or not on Hulu. 
In 2007,  The Naked City  was selected for preservation in the United States  National Film Registry  by the  Library of Congress as being "culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant".
