According to a report from The Wrap, Aussie director Baz Luhrmann may have found his musical follow-up project to last year’s Great Gatsby extravaganza: an Elvis Presley biopic.
The filmmaker is reportedly in negotiations to helm an untitled biopic from Saving Mr. Banks and Fifty Shades of Grey screenwriter Kelly Marcel. So little is known about the script, including what phase of the iconic musician’s life will be chronicled, that the only thingThe Wrap can confirm about the project is that it won’t be based on any pre-existing materials.
Warner Bros., which will be making the film, is said to have “secured rights to all musical components in Presley’s catalog.
